<h4>Nigeria Labour Congress<&sol;h4>&NewLine;<h4><&sol;h4>&NewLine;<p><strong><a href&equals;"https&colon;&sol;&sol;openlife&period;ng">OpenLife Nigeria<&sol;a><&sol;strong> reports that the Nigeria Labour Congress&comma; NLC and the Trade Union Congress&comma; TUC have endorsed the candidate of the Peoples Democratic Party&comma; PDP in the September 21 governorship election in Edo State&comma; Barrister Asue Ighodalo&period;<&sol;p>&NewLine;<p>Disclosing this on Friday&comma; governor Godwin Obaseki said that while playing host to the two unions in Benin&comma; he divulged the game plan of the police and the opposition All Progressives Congress &lpar;APC&rpar; to destabilise Edo State and pave the way for the devious rigging plot of the APC in the governorship election&period;<&sol;p>&NewLine;<p>According to him&comma; the plans to rig  the election in favour of APC will be resisted&period;<&sol;p>&NewLine;<p>He explained that for the past seven years as a governor of the state&comma; the relationship between Edo State and the two unions has been cordial&period;<&sol;p>&NewLine;<p><em><strong>&&num;8220&semi;I am deeply grateful to our trade union leaders and members for honouring me with a &OpenCurlyQuote;Thank You Rally&comma; &&num;8220&semi;<&sol;strong><&sol;em> he said&period;<&sol;p>&NewLine;<p>The full statement obtained from his Facebook wall reads&colon;<&sol;p>&NewLine;<p><em><strong>For eight years&comma; we have enjoyed a cordial working relationship without a single labour strike&period;<&sol;strong><&sol;em><&sol;p>&NewLine;<p><em><strong> Besides implementing several bold reforms and programmes to guarantee the welfare of workers in the state&comma; my administration also built a magnificent Labour House for the union groups&period;<&sol;strong><&sol;em><&sol;p>&NewLine;<p><em><strong>I also thank them for endorsing Dr&period; Asue Ighodalo&comma; the governorship candidate of our great party&comma; the Peoples Democratic Party &lpar;PDP&rpar;&period; <&sol;strong><&sol;em><&sol;p>&NewLine;<p><em><strong>He is a man who has the love of Edo people at heart and has been part of our developmental strides in the state&period;<&sol;strong><&sol;em><&sol;p>&NewLine;<p><em><strong>Workers in Edo State have been invaluable partners in the development of our state and its people&period; <&sol;strong><&sol;em><&sol;p>&NewLine;<p><em><strong>With their continued support&comma; the support of our people&comma; and the might of Almighty God&comma; no federal might can overturn the votes in the state&period;<&sol;strong><&sol;em><&sol;p>&NewLine;<p><em><strong> Democracy must work for Nigeria to survive&comma; and democracy means that the people&&num;8217&semi;s wishes must be respected&period;<&sol;strong><&sol;em><&sol;p>&NewLine;
