Nigeria Is In A State Of Dystopia—Prof Odion Akhaine

<p><em>Nigeria is not safe currently needs urgent overhaul<&sol;em><br &sol;>&NewLine;<a href&equals;"https&colon;&sol;&sol;openlife&period;ng&sol;">OpenLife Nigeria<&sol;a> reports that a Professor of Political Science at the Lagos State University&comma; Professor Odion Akhaine is unhappy at the level of insecurity in Nigeria&period;<br &sol;>&NewLine;The Human Rights activist who is also an academic expressed his feeling in unmistakable terms&comma; describing Nigeria to be in a state of dystopia&period;<br &sol;>&NewLine;In an exclusive interview with OpenLife Nigeria&comma; Akhaine decried the unaccountable use of budgetary allocations and sued for a review of government policies on insecurity&period;<br &sol;>&NewLine;&OpenCurlyDoubleQuote;The security situation is pathetic&period; No where is safe in the country&period; Despite budgetary and extra budgetary allocations to defence&comma; there has been no result&comma; rather the situation is deteriorating and <strong>Nigeria<&sol;strong> is in a state of dystopia&period; It appears to me that it has a latent function&period; In other words&comma; an ulterior motive&period; In the north-east&comma; the insurgents are a segment of the kanuri people&period; In the North-West it is the Fulani bandits&period; You have a security architecture that is fully in the hands of the Fulani elite&period; In this context&comma; a solution is an illusion&period; It is seems to me that it is the same conquest agenda&period; The Hausa and other indigenous communities in the North West and Middle Belt are being killed and displaced&period; While the southern half are under siege&period;<&sol;p>&NewLine;<p>&OpenCurlyDoubleQuote;As per funding of the security sector&comma; no amount is too much to secure the lives and property of Nigerians but there has to be accountability and transparency in how the money is spent&period; Currently&comma; it is opaque&period; <strong><a href&equals;"https&colon;&sol;&sol;openlife&period;ng&sol;">God<&sol;a><&sol;strong> helps Nigeria&comma;” Akhaine supplicated&period;<&sol;p>&NewLine;<p>&nbsp&semi;<&sol;p>&NewLine;
