New Taliban Government Reveals Fate Of Women In Afghanistan

New Taliban Government in Afghanistan
OpenLife Nigeria reports that the growing concerns of the fate of women in Afghanistan, and Al Qaeda inclined country have been the source of worries to individuals across the globe.
In the face of these concerns, there appears a glimmer of hope as the Taliban-led new government has promised to respect the rights of women.
However, the new government has not specified the length of liberty, within globally recognized women’s rights, that will be extended to the women
Speaking on the rights of women and the new government commitment to accommodate opposition, Taliban spokesman Zabihullah Mujahid told foreign and local reporters, in the movement’s first press conference that “All those in the opposite side are pardoned from A to Z. We will not seek revenge.”

Mujahid said the new regime would be “positively different” from their 1996-2001 stint, which was infamous for deaths by stoning, girls being banned from school and women from working in contact with men.
“If the question is based on ideology and beliefs, there is no difference… but if we calculate it based on experience, maturity, and insight, no doubt there are many differences,” Mujahid told reporters.
He also said they are “committed to letting women work in accordance with the principles of Islam”, without offering specifics.
Meanwhile, the former Afghan president Ashraf Ghani who fled the country as it toppled to the Taliban was on Wednesday is in the United Arab Emirates.
Ghani flew out of the country on Sunday as the militants closed in on the capital, Kabul, sealing the Taliban’s rapid victory and a return to rule two decades after they were ousted by a US-led invasion.
The United Arab Emirates, on Wednesday, said it is hosting Ghani and his family “on humanitarian grounds.”
The UAE official statement is the first confirmation of Ghani’s whereabouts.
