New Taliban Government Reveals Fate Of Women In Afghanistan

<p><em>New Taliban Government in Afghanistan<&sol;em><br &sol;>&NewLine;<strong><a href&equals;"https&colon;&sol;&sol;openlife&period;ng&sol;">OpenLife Nigeria<&sol;a> <&sol;strong>reports that the growing concerns of the fate of women in Afghanistan&comma; and Al Qaeda inclined country have been the source of worries to individuals across the globe&period;<br &sol;>&NewLine;In the face of these concerns&comma; there appears a glimmer of hope as the Taliban-led new government has promised to respect the rights of women&period;<br &sol;>&NewLine;However&comma; the new government has not specified the length of liberty&comma; within globally recognized women’s rights&comma; that will be extended to the women<br &sol;>&NewLine;Speaking on the rights of women and the new government commitment to accommodate opposition&comma; Taliban spokesman Zabihullah Mujahid told foreign and local reporters&comma; in the movement’s first press conference that &OpenCurlyDoubleQuote;All those in the opposite side are pardoned from A to Z&period; We will not seek revenge&period;”<&sol;p>&NewLine;<p>Mujahid said the new regime would be &OpenCurlyDoubleQuote;positively different” from their 1996-2001 stint&comma; which was infamous for deaths by stoning&comma; girls being banned from school and women from working in contact with men&period;<br &sol;>&NewLine;&OpenCurlyDoubleQuote;If the question is based on ideology and beliefs&comma; there is no difference… but if we calculate it based on experience&comma; maturity&comma; and insight&comma; no doubt there are many differences&comma;” Mujahid told reporters&period;<br &sol;>&NewLine;He also said they are &OpenCurlyDoubleQuote;committed to letting women work in accordance with the principles of Islam”&comma; without offering specifics&period;<br &sol;>&NewLine;Meanwhile&comma; the former Afghan president Ashraf Ghani who fled the country as it toppled to the <a href&equals;"https&colon;&sol;&sol;punchng&period;com&sol;">Taliban<&sol;a> was on Wednesday is in the United Arab Emirates&period;<br &sol;>&NewLine;Ghani flew out of the country on Sunday as the militants closed in on the capital&comma; Kabul&comma; sealing the Taliban’s rapid victory and a return to rule two decades after they were ousted by a US-led invasion&period;<br &sol;>&NewLine;The United Arab Emirates&comma; on Wednesday&comma; said it is hosting Ghani and his family &OpenCurlyDoubleQuote;on humanitarian grounds&period;”<br &sol;>&NewLine;The UAE official statement is the first confirmation of Ghani’s whereabouts&period;<&sol;p>&NewLine;<p>&nbsp&semi;<&sol;p>&NewLine;
