Ndigbo Will Never Speak With One Voice
Chief Thompson Chinenyeeze Ohia, a former two-tenure secretary of Lagos chapter of Ohanaeze Ndigbo, in this piece, reveals the unwarranted attempts to cause chaos in Lagos Ohanaeze Ndigbo by few members and calls for caution for peace to reign. His piece is reproduced below
This is to refer to the null and void press conference organized by those who are not members of Ohanaeze about the electoral committee that is to conduct local government election in 2022.
They did it, claiming they are supporting the headquarters of Ohanaeze in Enugu.
But it is not. Their aim is for Ohanaeze Ndigbo Lagos to have serious controversy because that is where they get their stomach infrastructure.
It is a known fact that it is not for the interest of Ndigbo. They are known as little rebels among the Igbo less privileged in Lagos.
They are known as opposition of Ohanaeze Ndigbo, Lagos.
The Igbo speaking community association in Lagos is currently suffering from factions with two presidents.
That is why those few members dominated the press conference to make sure that Ohanaeze Ndigbo in Lagos suffers the same thing they are suffering.
Ohananeze members, please, take note of this and avoid their devilish plans.
The press conference took place at Christian Nwachukwu’s unkempt compound in Isolo, Lagos.
Clearly, by birth, every Igbo person, man or woman is Ohanaeze. But to be able to speak for Ndigbo, you must be registered as a financial member under Ohanaeze Ndigbo anywhere you reside in the world because Ohanaeze Ndigbo has gone worldwide.
If you are a financial member and you are suspended indefinitely over questionable character, you cannot speak for the interest of Ndigbo under Ohanaeze until you are cleared.
For example, John Uche, {Akpati Nsiegbe-meaning small no be sick} also known as ‘one ear lion’ which he labeled himself, is still under suspension.
Overtime, he has boasted thus: “Ndigbo, you cut my ear. I will never listen to anything that will bring progress of Ndigbo.”
John Uche who has been given an indefinite suspension for more than 15 years by the national body of Ohanaeze in Enugu including the suspension of Elder council, Ohanaeze Ndigbo, Lagos for dubiousness and extorting money from different people, claims to be the founder of Lagos Ohanaeze Ndigbo.
Any leader, who come on board as President of Ohanaeze and refused to dance to Mr John Uche’s {Akpati Nsiegbe} monetary demands, is always blackmailed.
His trade mark is moving from one chamber to another with Okada to compile petitions and other allegations including forged certificates, money laundry for an association that has no allocation. He also talks about politics money that has no proof.
That is how cheap Uche is. With his standard 11 education, he would say he has Ph.D in politics and economics and different universities across the globe are calling him for lecturing jobs.
Several times, John Uche has boasted that he was the one who taught Goodluck Jonathan at the University of Port Harcourt and he was also the one who wrote the document that enabled Ibrahim Babangida to join the army.
He specializes in name dropping.
He goes to events claiming to be representing high profile people and at the end, he would collect money from the person who is organizing the event.
He would promise to bring retired Generals Olusegun Obasanjo, General Yakubu Gowon and Abdulsalam including Dangote, Ogbonnaya Onu etc to any impending event just to show he is highly connected.
These are part of his strategies to survive.
He is known as one of the most organized petitioners, working with lawyers who help him to draft the petitions and in the end, he claims the glory.
For that, Lagos Ndigbo has awarded him the master of forgery and petition writing.
However, talking about John Uche is like making him important because he has no shame.
Yet, it is on record that his stubbornness made Ndigbo to remove one of his ears during Otokoto era. Still, he has not learnt any lesson.
No doubt, he is a mastermind of all malign information. He has Ph.D in that. In West Africa, he is number one in the profession of turning lies to truth, using it against people.
Moreso, Uche has no two addressee. None of his friends can boast of locating where John Uche is living for over 27 years in Lagos. He attends peoples’ events but he has never organized anyone.
I , Chief Thompson Chinenyeeze Ohia, who has been the secretary of Ohanaze Ndigbo Lagos State for two- tenure and a member of Ohananeze Ndigbo for 20 years, have never attended any event like naming ceremony, marriage, birthday or get-together organized Uche. But he is always in different meetings with sinister motives.
There are lots of good works done by the President of Lagos Ohanaeze Ndigbo, Chief Solomon Ogbonna Aguene. Among the good works is the sidelining of John Uche {Akpati Nsiegbe} and making him inconsequential in any gathering where responsible Ndigbos are present. Since he was sidelined, meetings of Ohanaeze Ndigbo have been going on smoothly. If at all he finds a way to sneak in, he hides and avoid faces.
He calls himself a king maker. Giving himself different titles is another area he has performed very well.
He labels himself president of Nigerian resident association.
He told people that the title was given to him by President Muhammadu Buhari.
John Uche subsequently swindled a woman member of Ohanaeze entertainment committee N1 million saying he was going to Abuja to collect the title certificate.
It is Chief Solomon Ogbonna that made people to know that Uche’s petitions are inconsequential and irrelevant to anybody.
President Solomon Aguene describes him as remnants among quality people.
He is also an agent of many native doctors. It is very difficult to locate where he lives.
I place a bet of N100k for anyone who can locate his residential address.
Of all the lies and petitions he wrote against our President, Ohanaeze Ndigbo Lagos, High Chief Solomon Ogbonna Aguene, the president always tells him that he leaves him with God and John Uche {Akpati Nsiegbe} is happy because he believes when someone says so, the person is weak but he does not know that the person has put him in danger in the hands of God.
And that is why he never records any progress for himself since he has been in Lagos for over 30 years.
John Uche is not alone. He works with few nuisance namely Kanu Ogoro, 60 years without wife and child, John Nwosu, former Eze of few old motors parts dealers in Ladipo, residing in Mushin and others.
They call themselves stakeholders of Ndigbo in Lagos as well as king makers and they are the group orchestrating chaos in Lagos Ohanaeze. It is laughable.
Besides, it is obvious the simple reason someone like Christian Nwachukwu allowed them to organize such press conference at his unkempt compound is for financial gains.
He is expecting that whoever is their financial sponsor to give him money.
He does not care about what they will achieve at the conference.
That is Nwachukwu for you.
However, this is the highest honour they have gotten for anybody to talk about them in the media under the regime of President Solomon Ogbonna Aguene, the best President Ndigbo has ever got in Lagos State, a leader that brought Ndigbo close to the government of Lagos and has given scholarship in association that has no allocation.
No leader of Ndigbo in Diaspora that has done better than Chief Solomon Aguene.
Anyone who is economical with this truth because of envy and gossip will face the arrow of God.
Ndigbo, we must not be ungrateful because what a man sows he reaps.
Above all, it is not the right of Enugu headquarters to conduct local government election in Lagos.
The bye law says it is the Lagos chapter president that will appoint the electoral committee.
Anything contrary to this will generate serious problems and that is straight to the point.
