Madam, it seems the conferment of Mayor Ndigbo on Chisco is receiving attention everywhere. Why is it so?
Yes, it is worthy of celebration.
It is a great thing for Ndigbo for someone like Chisco to agree to serve as Mayor Ndigbo. The Mayor Ndigbo is not only for those living in Lagos.
The benefits of the office will affect every Igbo person anywhere in the world.
But Ohanaeze Ndigbo still remains the apex socio cultural organization.
They have different work. But importantly, all is for the interest of Ndigbo.
This is the crying call of Ndigbo for so many years to get a leader that is self confident, who has name and what it takes to lead.
Chisco is a philanthropist by nature. He is not a politician. He is a complete businessman.
As wealthy as he is, he has never had any criminal record in his business. He has over 4000 staff members under his payroll.
Yet, not one of his staff has complained of non-payment as at when due.
I have worked with Chisco group of companies for over two decades. So, I know what I am talking about.
He is not the kind of leader we have in other different groups who are thinking only of themselves and their biological children on how much they are going to leave for them in account and the positions they are going to secure for them in government.
And they will use people as their platforms, extorting money from politicians including businessmen.
At the end, they will garner all those material benefits for themselves.
Madam do you mean Ndigbo have gotten what they have been yearning for over the years?
Yes, they have gotten what they have been yearning for.
The good people of Ndigbo are still asking the question: Is it true that Chief Chidi Anyaegbu {Chisco] has accepted this Mayor Ndigbo?
If he does, the unity of Ndigbo is around the corner as it used to be during the time of Dr, Nnamdi Azikiwe.
The crises we have in Ohanaeze both at the national and in some states, someone like Chisco will resolve them because you cannot bribe him.
It is only those who live by crises that will kick against this development of Mayor Ndigbo.
For those who are still asking question about whether Mayor Ndigbo is on the organogram of Igbo chieftaincy, they should understand that all the local government chairmen in the south east are also known as the Mayors.
They have mayor of Umuahia. The newly crown Mayor of Oba is there.
So, the one of December 16 is the Mayor Ndigbo. He is going to be superintending over all other Mayors.
Chisco, the man who is wearing the cap, is also qualified to be President of any country in the world.
Those who do not now that we were colonized by the British should know that we adopted their language.
So, if we adopt Mayor title from our colonial masters, we are still on the right track.

Like I said, Ohanaeze is a different body. Ndi-Eze is a different body but they can work together for the benefit of Ndigbo.
For those who are either afraid or have fears if Mayor is going to take their seat, they should know that conferment of any position is not the problem including political post but what the office gives to the people is what matters.
