OpenLife Nigeria reports that Mallam Nasir El-Rufai, the former governor of Kaduna State, has disclosed his next political move following his fallout with the All Progressives Congress, APC which he co founded in 2014.
Over the past few months, speculations about the next political move of the former Minister of the Federal Capital Territory, FCT, has been thick in the air.
The problem started when El Rufai could not make the cabinet of Bola Tinubu after APC won the presidency in 2023.
Since then, Rufai has been exhibiting cold attitude towards APC.
In some important respects, Rufai has publicly complained about the policies of Tinubu which public analyst interpret as complete fall out from the party.
To confirm the speculation, Rufai visited the leaders of other political parties like the Social Democratic Party, SDP.
He recently visited and held meeting with Peoples Democratic Party, PDP leaders.
Speaking on Arise TV Monday evening, El-Rufai disclosed that despite the fact that he has not been at home with his APC, joining PDP is completely out of the equation.
He also indicated that the possibility of joining other political party is high.
“For 2027, I will consult my supporters on who to support,” he said even though he was silent on the party he would join.
Categorically, Rufai said “I am not sure I will be in APC in 2027 but I will support a southern candidate in 2027,” he disclosed.
