<p><em>My plans for November election<&sol;em><br &sol;>&NewLine;<strong><a href&equals;"https&colon;&sol;&sol;openlife&period;ng&sol;wp-">OpenLife Nigeria<&sol;a><&sol;strong> reports that as the stage gets set for the November governorship election in Anambra State gathers momentum&comma; Obiora Okonkwo&comma; an aspirant on the platform of the Peoples Democratic Party&comma; PDP&comma; has laid bare his plans to dislodge the ruling All Progressives Grand Alliance&comma; APGA and the All Progressives Congress&comma; APC&period;<br &sol;>&NewLine;Speaking on Tuesday morning in a live Television programme on the African Independent Television&comma; AIT&comma; Okonkwo stated that he is the man to beat in the election&period;<br &sol;>&NewLine;He anchored his assurance on the electoral strength of Anambra Central Senatorial District which has the highest number of registered voters in Anambra State&period;<br &sol;>&NewLine;Okonkwo hails from Idemili North in the Anambra Central Senatorial District&period;<br &sol;>&NewLine;The founder of United Nigeria Airline who had submitted his nomination form in Abuja on Monday at the PDP national headquarters&comma; maintained that Anambra State is traditionally a PDP state&comma; stressing that but for the error in the past&comma; no other political party would have been able to dislodge PDP from the State&period;<br &sol;>&NewLine;He emphasized that APGA has taken Anambra state backward since it assumed office in 2006 saying &OpenCurlyDoubleQuote;It will take a private sector experience like what I have to liberate Anambra from the grips of poverty entrenched by APGA&period;<br &sol;>&NewLine;&OpenCurlyDoubleQuote;I am a citizens of every kingdom in Anambra State&period; My philanthropic efforts have endeared me to all the traditional institutions in Anambra and that is why I have the highest number of traditional titles in the State&period;<br &sol;>&NewLine;&OpenCurlyDoubleQuote;So&comma; without being told&comma; you know I am a grassroots man&comma;” he submitted&period;<br &sol;>&NewLine;Okonkwo explained that he would implement local government autonomy within his first one year in office if elected as the State governor in November&period;<br &sol;>&NewLine;He added that he would resuscitate the collapsed industries in Nnewi&period;<br &sol;>&NewLine;&OpenCurlyDoubleQuote;In the past&comma; there were about 16 industries in Nnewi&period; At the moment&comma; almost all of them have collapsed&comma;” he stated&period;<br &sol;>&NewLine;Meanwhile&comma; there are 16 members of the party that have collected nomination forms&comma; a development that makes it extremely difficult for political book makers to predict who would clinch the umbrella ticket during the primary election fixed for June&period;<br &sol;>&NewLine;The Anambra Central Senatorial District of Obiora Okonkwo has governed the State for eleven years ranging from the eight years of Peter Obi and three years of Dr&period; Chris Ngige&period;<br &sol;>&NewLine;Mr&period; Willie Obianor&comma; current governor of the State on the platform of APGA who is rounding off his two-term of eight years has from Anambra North&period;<br &sol;>&NewLine;Insiders have however argued that Anambra South should be supported in November election&period; They hinge their argument on the arithmetic that since 1999&comma; the zone has only governed the State for four years during the tenure of Chinwoke Mbadinuju&period;<br &sol;>&NewLine;The Anambra South that seems to be favoured by this argument has Professor Charles Soludo&comma; an APGA aspirant&comma; as one of its illustrious sons&period;<&sol;p>&NewLine;<p>&nbsp&semi;<&sol;p>&NewLine;
