<p><strong><a href="https://openlife.ng/">OpenLife Nigeria</a></strong> reports that few days after the news broke that celebrated actress, Funke Akindele has officially accepted to be the running mate to Lagos State Peoples Democratic Party, PDP, candidate, Abdul-Azeez Olajide Adediran in the 2023 general elections, she has formally unveiled her major mission on the PDP joint guber ticket.<br />
Speaking on Channels television, the 44 years old celebrity disclosed that the uplift of children, women and youths is the major reason she is vying for the Lagos governorship.<br />
She clarified that despite the humongous amount in the coffers of <a href="https://punchng.com/">Lagos State</a>, the youths, children and women have not fared well under previous and incumbent administrations.<br />
“My mission, under governor Abdul-Azeez Olajide Adediran, is to ensure improvement in the life of the children, youths and women in Lagos State.<br />
“There are still lots of out of school children in the State. There is free education but no learning tools. Teachers are not given adequate training. Women are suffering and youths are roaming the streets.<br />
“So, all these have to be adequately tackled and that forms part of the reasons I am in the race,” she stated.</p>
