Mountain Of Fire Ministries deals with a traducer
OpenLife Nigeria reports that Maureen Badejo, a known traducer of the General Overseer of Mountain of Fire Ministries, Dr. Daniel Olukoya, has been slammed with a £ 960,000 suit in the UK.
Announcing the development through a statement from the church, made available to OpenLife Nigeria, the church elaborated the highlight of Maureen Badejo’s unwarranted attack on the man of God.
In mid February, an Ogun State High Court ordered the United Kingdom based blogger, Maureen Badejo, to pay ₦500 million to the Mountain of Fire and Miracles Ministries (MFM) and its General Overseer, Daniel Olukoya, for defamation.
Abiodun Akinyemi, while delivering the judgment, also ordered Ms Badejo, the proprietor of Gio TV, to pull down and erase the offending online publications concerning the claimants from the internet.
The judge further ordered the blogger to tender a written apology and retraction of the offending publications prominently on social media and at least three national dailies.
“Watching and listening to the broadcasts when demonstrated in open court, I was taken aback at the reckless and defiant attitude of the defendant,” said the judge.
“What was more, it was a phone-in programme in which the defendant even granted audience to the public to make contributions on the information provided by her concerning the claimants.
“I cannot imagine a worse case of reckless defamation or evil use of the internet and social media. Considering the totality of the circumstances of this case, and in particular the conduct of the defendant, I am of the view that the claimants deserve to be substantially compensated in aggravated and exemplary damages,” Justice Akinyemi said in the verdict.
Instructively, Mountain of Fire Ministries and Dr Olukoya had filed a suit before the court on September 7, 2020, seeking ₦10 billion compensation for aggravated and exemplary damages.

Maureen Badejo was accused of using her social media channels to blackmail Mr Olukoya and his church on Facebook, YouTube and Instagram.
She claimed that Mr Olukoya and his church, the claimants, duped the United States Government by selling his books in the U.S. without paying due tax.
She also alleged that a pastor from Mountain of fire in the UK paid £150,000 into the personal account of Mr Olukoya and then went to Nigeria to meet the cleric so he could help him cover up his fraud.
According to the two witnesses called by the claimants, the blogger’s broadcast gave them the impression that Mr Olukoya has a pending case against him in the UK and being a fraudulent and criminally-minded person, had no moral content to hold the office of clergyman and spiritual counsellor to millions of people all over the world.”
The statement from the church on March 30 is reproduced below unedited.
“There is a part of the Bible where God said let there be light, and there was light, and since then, darkness has never ruled over light.
Maureen Badejo dug a well for herself and jumped into it.
Peddling fake stories about a true man of God like Olukoya without fear was a very dangerous path to tread because God does not play with the apple of his eyes.
As day breaks, I continue to believe more in the verse of the Bible that says, touch not my anointed and do my prophet no harm. Since last year, I took it upon myself to follow up with the Matter of Maureen Badejo and Mountain of Fire, by revealing the truth and debunking all the lies and fabrications Maureen Badejo spills through her YouTube and Facebook channels.
Sooner than later, she was sued for aggravated libel and character assassination by the church committee in different countries of the world and Nigeria as well, being that Mountain of Fire And Miracles Ministries is an International Ministry.
On the 9th of February 2021, when the High Court of Ogun State, Nigeria, delivered a judgment by which damages of N500 million was awarded to Mountain of Fire and Dr. D K. Olukoya against Maureen Badejo, Maureen Badejo, in her usual loud and ignorant way, treated it with levity and she and her followers called it “jankariwo judgment” making a mockery of the judgment in her online show.
But today, the best of news hit us as we got to know that the same so-called “Jankariwo judgment” as described by Maureen and her cohorts, has been duly registered this day 30th of March 2021 in the High Court of Justice in the United Kingdom.
By this development, the judgment of the Hon. Justice A. A. Adeyemi becomes, for all intents and purposes, a judgment of the Queen’s Bench Division and will soon be executed on the judgment debtor – Maureen Badejo in that country.

Maureen, I warned you, and I begged you to repent and apologize on several articles but you went ahead to do a baseless show about me, today punishment is served, I don’t know how you will blog your way out of this, but God that answereth by fire has indeed answered you.

Maureen don’t cry yet, more troubles are on the way, but you can still repent and ask for forgiveness, Dr. Olukoya is a true man of God and a kind man as well, but for the main time enjoy your troubles for the Bible says that no wicked shall go unpunished and for her supporters and informant, I know that she will soon turn on all of you and mention all your names and we will be here to publish. So better repent as well and seek the truth,” Femi Oyewale, a media entrepreneur who signed the statement said.
