OpenLife Nigeria reports that the General Secretary of Motorcycle Operators Union of Nigeria, MOUN, Comrade Ade Ikuesan, has advised motorcycle riders across Nigeria to be cautious of their operations this yuletide season.
Comrade Ikuesan specifically cautioned against speeding, reckless driving to reduce crashes in this end of year season.
In a telephone conversation with OpenLife Friday afternoon, the MOUN General Secretary reiterated the importance of life and the essential need to be extra careful during business operations.
“We are appealing to our union members to embrace safety culture, exercise patience and refrain from over speeding to minimise accidents during the festivity. In addition, they should desist from drunk riding, wrongful overtaking and reckless riding to reduce mishaps,” he said.
Comrade Ade Ikuesan who recently assumed office as MOUN General Secretary explained that motorcycle transportation has become the fastest mode of movements in rural areas as well as the inner circles of cities.
He therefore, called on State and local governments to pay greater attention to feeder roads nationwide for ease of movement through motorcycle.
