OpenLife Nigeria reports that Charles Oputa, popularly known as Charly Boy has given insight into what he plans to do in Lagos in the rescheduled governorship election.
The governorship segment of the 2023 general elections which was originally fixed for March 11 has been re scheduled for March 18 by the Independent National Electoral Commission, INEC.
Charly Boy, humanist, activist and leading light in the entertainment industry has, over the years, demonstrated concerns for a better Nigeria through democratic governance.
The fearless Oguta, Imo State born lover of youths, in a social media post on Friday, admonished Gbadebo Rhodes Vivour, Labour Party governorship candidate, to soldier on in his aspiration fearlessly.
The singer and producer emphasized his love for the young Labour Party candidate, describing him as one of a kind.
Addressing Rhodes Vivour as a “son,” the ‘Area Fada’ stressed that Lagos voters have no reason not to cast their votes for the trained construction engineer on March 18, saying that anything contrary is an indication of ‘mumu,’ a pidgin language meaning foolish.
Charly Boy, who once served as President, Performing Musicians Association of Nigeria, PMAN, as well as a judge in the 2011 Nigerian Idol Show, noted that he is particularly endeared to the Labour Party guber candidate as a result of his unwavering commitment to his political objectives and its corresponding ‘audacity.’
Given that he probably didn’t register to vote in Lagos, Charly Boy promised to deploy all available supports to Rhodes Vivour’s victory on March 18 including but not limited to escorting him to his polling unit on election in form of solidarity.
