<p>&nbsp&semi;<&sol;p>&NewLine;<p><em>Main Cause of crash unveiled<&sol;em><br &sol;>&NewLine;<strong><a href&equals;"https&colon;&sol;&sol;openlife&period;ng&sol;">OpenLife Nigeria<&sol;a><&sol;strong> has learned that Los Angeles County Sheriff&&num;8217&semi;s Department has released the main cause of Tiger Woods’ crash in recent accident&period;<br &sol;>&NewLine;According to the available report&comma; Sheriff Alex Villanueva of the Los Angeles County Sheriff&&num;8217&semi;s Department said the main causes of the crash were speed and Woods&&num;8217&semi; inability to negotiate a curve<br &sol;>&NewLine;The report is coming Six weeks after the golf legend suffered serious leg injuries in the auto crash<&sol;p>&NewLine;<p>The reports says &OpenCurlyDoubleQuote;As he approached a curve in the road&comma; <a href&equals;"https&colon;&sol;&sol;www&period;vanguardngr&period;com&sol;">Tiger Woods<&sol;a> apparently meant to hit the brakes but instead slammed on the gas&period; The SUV reached a speed of up to 87 mph&comma; far greater than the 45 mph speed limit&period;&&num;8211&semi; causing a high-speed rollover crash&comma; Villanueva said&period;<br &sol;>&NewLine;The golfer was driving a Genesis SUV around 7 a&period;m&period; February 23 when the vehicle veered off the road about 26 miles southwest of downtown Los Angeles&period;<br &sol;>&NewLine;Woods was driving in Rancho Palos Verdes when he hit a &&num;8220&semi;Welcome to Rolling Hills Estates&&num;8221&semi; sign&comma; crossed a center divider and traveled more than 150 feet across the shoulder through shrubbery and an uprooted tree before coming to a stop&comma; according to a search warrant affidavit of the vehicle&&num;8217&semi;s data recorder&period;<&sol;p>&NewLine;<p>He likely mistook the gas pedal for the brakes&comma; as no braking was detected&comma; Capt&period; James Powers said&period;<br &sol;>&NewLine;&&num;8220&semi;There is zero braking on that data recorder&comma;&&num;8221&semi; but &&num;8220&semi;there is 99&percnt; acceleration on the pedal&comma;&&num;8221&semi; Powers said&period;<br &sol;>&NewLine;He said the car hit a tree&comma; went airborne did a &&num;8220&semi;pirouette&&num;8221&semi; before It landed&period; The <a href&equals;"https&colon;&sol;&sol;openlife&period;ng&sol;">SUV<&sol;a> was traveling about 75 mph when it struck the tree&comma; Villanueva said&period;<br &sol;>&NewLine;On Twitter&comma; Woods thanked the good Samaritans who came to the crash site and called 911 and the first responders &&num;8220&semi;for helping me so expertly at the scene and getting me safely to the hospital&period;&&num;8221&semi;<br &sol;>&NewLine;&&num;8220&semi;I will continue to focus on my recovery and my family&comma; and thank everyone for the overwhelming support and encouragement I&&num;8217&semi;ve received&comma;&&num;8221&semi; he wrote&period;<br &sol;>&NewLine;Investigators did not seek a warrant for blood tests because there was no evidence of impairment or intoxication&comma; Powers said&period;<&sol;p>&NewLine;<p>Woods said he was not under any medication and had not been drinking&comma; the captain said&period; He said the golfer appeared &&num;8220&semi;dazed and confused&&num;8221&semi; and said he had no recollection of the crash&period;<br &sol;>&NewLine;Due to his injuries&comma; &&num;8220&semi;It would not be appropriate to do field sobriety tests&comma;&&num;8221&semi; Powers said&period; After weeks in the hospital&comma; Woods has been recovering at home&period;<&sol;p>&NewLine;<p>&nbsp&semi;<&sol;p>&NewLine;<p>&nbsp&semi;<&sol;p>&NewLine;

Nollywood Actress, Shine Rosman, Raises Alarm Over Alleged Sexual Harassment In Lagos OpenLife reports that Nollywood actress Shine Rosman has spoken about what she describes as ongoing incidents of sexual harassment affecting women in parts of Lagos, particularly in Yaba. She said the issue is widely known among residents but remains unaddressed. “Do you know how bad sexual harrssment is in Lagos? Like go to Yaba, as a girl and see how you will be touched inappropriately. Everybody hearing this knows that it is true. But till today, nothing is being done about it.” She described what she claims are repeated incidents of inappropriate contact in public spaces without consequences for those responsible. “You’re walking in Yaba and people are touching you inappropriately and nothing will happen.” Rosman questioned the absence of effective intervention and raised concerns about personal safety in such environments. “If the government is not going to do anything, is it not ok for us to defend ourselves? In 2026, in a country like Nigeria, s+xual har+ssment is still one of the most passive things.” She also raised concerns about the implications of such behaviour occurring in open public spaces. “If a man can s+xually h+rass you casually during the day, what do you think he can do behind closed doors when no one is looking?”. The comments were made during an interview with Tolu Afilaka, where she discussed women’s safety in public areas of Lagos.
