<p><strong><a href="https://openlife.ng/">OpenLife Nigeria</a></strong> reports that the Niger State Police Command has confirmed a tragic incident involving the death of a 53-year-old lecturer, Abdulfatai Aiyede, following a visit to a young woman’s residence in Minna.</p>

<p>According to police authorities, Aiyede had travelled from Bida to Minna to see a 25-year-old nursing student, Stella Joseph. The visit reportedly ended in an emergency after the lecturer consumed a meal and suddenly became ill.</p>

<p>Providing details of the case, the Police Public Relations Officer, <a href="https://www.vanguardngr.com/">Wasiu Abiodun</a>, said in a statement dated Friday, January 30, that the incident was reported on January 27, 2026. He explained that officers attached to the Tudun-Wada Division received information about the situation in the morning hours.</p>

<p>“The Niger State Police Command wishes to confirm that on 27/1/26 at about 10am, report received from Tudun-Wada Div indicated that one Abdulfatai Aiyede of about 53yrs of age came to Minna from Bida, and visited a friend identified as Stella Joseph aged 25yrs at Niteco road Tunga, Minna,” the statement read.</p>

<p>Abiodun noted that events took a fatal turn shortly after the meal was served.</p>

<p>“During the visit, it was reported that Stella served her guest some food, later allegedly convulsing and collapsing. The victim was later taken to the General Hospital where he was confirmed dead.”</p>

<p>The police spokesperson disclosed that Stella Joseph has since been arrested as investigations continue.</p>

<p>He added that the deceased’s body has been subjected to medical examination to ascertain the exact cause of death, while family members have been duly notified.</p>
<p>“The case is under investigation.</p>
