Lagos APC Makes Strategic Move To Remain In Power

OpenLife Nigeria reports that the ruling All Progressives Congress, APC in Lagos State has made a strategic move not only to deliver the state to APC in 2027 but to remain in power through the ballot.

To achieve this, the Lagos State chapter has announced a N20 million prize for the local government that recorded highest number of newly registered voters in the ongoing registration exercise reports.

In 2023, Lagos had 7,060,195
as total number of registered voters of which 3,256,799 were female, representing 46.1 percent and 3,803,396 were males, representing 53.9percent.

Given what transpired in the last general election in which Labour Party, LP defeated APC in the state, the Chairman of the party in the state, Pastor Cornelius Ojelabi has decided to deploy strategic ways of having reasonable number of registered voters loyal to the party, using incentives.

The chairman disclosed this on Tuesday, 21 October, 2025 during the Stakeholders’ Forum of the party going on at the Eko Hotels and Suites, Lagos.

Ojelabi stated that the party has put everything in place for smooth registration calling on all members of the party to go out and mobilise people to register.

Ojelabi also announced that the Ward with the highest number newly registered voters will get a N5 million cash prize.

Ojelabi stated further that the party is not leaving anything to chance in mobilising people to register and collect their PVCs.
