<h4>Labour Reveals More Plans<&sol;h4>&NewLine;<p>OpenLife Nigeria reports that the Labour Party&comma; one of Nigeria’s main opposition parties in the 2023 elections&comma; has not only rejected the ongoing collation and announcement of the presidential election results in Abuja but has unveiled further plans the party has initiated to ensure the Independent National Electoral Commission&comma; INEC&comma; retraces its step by doing the right thing&period;<br &sol;>&NewLine;Speaking on Tuesday in a live TV show&comma; Ndi Kato&comma; one of the spokespersons of Labour Party maintained that the party will stay off the collation centre when it begins at the International Conference Centre&comma; Abuja Tuesday at 11am&period;<br &sol;>&NewLine;She submitted the INEC has eroded the credibility of the election by refusing to transmit results electronically at the polling units&period;<br &sol;>&NewLine;She noted that INEC&&num;8217&semi;s action is fraudulent&period;<br &sol;>&NewLine;When reminded that Labour Party won Lagos State which is reputed to be the stronghold of the candidate of the All Progressives Congress&comma; APC&comma; Bola Ahmed Tinubu&comma; the Labour Party spokesperson argued that though Labour Party members were excited about the Lagos results&comma; the leaders are not celebrating the victory because &&num;8220&semi;We did better than the results displayed in Lagos&period; The same things applies in many States&comma;&&num;8221&semi; she said&period;<&sol;p>&NewLine;<p>The party&comma; had on Monday&comma; said it has lost fate in the election because INEC failed to publish all the results from polling units on its iREV server&period;<&sol;p>&NewLine;<p>The opposition party thus questioned the integrity of the collation and announcement exercise at the national collation centre in Abuja&period;<&sol;p>&NewLine;<p>The Peoples Democratic Party &lpar;PDP&rpar; had raised similar questions as the collation of the presidential election results resumed at the National Collation Centre in Abuja on Monday&period;<&sol;p>&NewLine;<p>The Labour Party candidate&comma; Peter Obi&comma; is one of the four presidential candidates that have won at least one state in the elections&period;<&sol;p>&NewLine;<p>On Sunday&comma; INEC admitted the slow uploading of polling unit results on its result viewing portal &lpar;IRev&rpar;&period; The commission said the problem is due to technical hitches&period;<&sol;p>&NewLine;<p>&OpenCurlyDoubleQuote;It is indeed not unusual for glitches to occur and be corrected in such situations&comma;” INEC said in a statement&period; It&comma; however&comma; assures Nigerians that the challenges are not due to any intrusion or sabotage of our systems and that the IReV remains well-secured&period;<&sol;p>&NewLine;<p>Some political parties including the PDP have protested the delay in the uploading of the presidential election results on the election results Viewing portal &lpar;IRev&rpar;&comma; insisting that collation will not continue until that is done&period;<&sol;p>&NewLine;<p>They also claimed that there are cases of over-voting in the results of Ekiti and Kwara states as presented by their collation officers and Resident Electoral Commissioners&period;<&sol;p>&NewLine;

Nollywood Actress, Shine Rosman, Raises Alarm Over Alleged Sexual Harassment In Lagos OpenLife reports that Nollywood actress Shine Rosman has spoken about what she describes as ongoing incidents of sexual harassment affecting women in parts of Lagos, particularly in Yaba. She said the issue is widely known among residents but remains unaddressed. “Do you know how bad sexual harrssment is in Lagos? Like go to Yaba, as a girl and see how you will be touched inappropriately. Everybody hearing this knows that it is true. But till today, nothing is being done about it.” She described what she claims are repeated incidents of inappropriate contact in public spaces without consequences for those responsible. “You’re walking in Yaba and people are touching you inappropriately and nothing will happen.” Rosman questioned the absence of effective intervention and raised concerns about personal safety in such environments. “If the government is not going to do anything, is it not ok for us to defend ourselves? In 2026, in a country like Nigeria, s+xual har+ssment is still one of the most passive things.” She also raised concerns about the implications of such behaviour occurring in open public spaces. “If a man can s+xually h+rass you casually during the day, what do you think he can do behind closed doors when no one is looking?”. The comments were made during an interview with Tolu Afilaka, where she discussed women’s safety in public areas of Lagos.
