MultiMedia Group has retracted  defamatory comments made against GOC Boss Mr. Ben Nunoo-Mensah in one of its programmes.

President of GOC also known as National Olympic Committee (NOC) had expressed reservations about the comments in one of MultiMedia  programmes and gave the notice through his lawyer Stephen Asante Bekoe,Esq, of Afisem Chambers.

The letter dated 30th March, 2020 was addressed to Mr. Alexander Kobina Stonne (A.K.A Kobby Stonne) and Multimedia Ghana Ltd.

The lawyer of GOC President as was directed by his client issued this word of caution to Alexander Kobina Stonne to desist from defaming his client and to apologize accordingly.

The lawyer intimated that several defamatory statements were made on these programs by Kobby Stonne.

The notice was served on Alexander Kobina Stonne and Multimedia Ltd. to immediately retract each and every defamatory statement made against Mr. Ben Nunoo-Mensah the President of G.O.C.

“The notice also demanded that Kobby Stone and Multimedia Ltd. apologize accordingly to Nunoo-Mensah on four(4) consecutive days the same way they did on their various platforms and programs making those defamatory statements within seven (7) days upon receipt of the letter”.

As was demanded by Mr. Nunoo Mensah, Kobby Stone has duly responded to the notice and has apologized to the GOC President for TG he kind of words ha e used.

He apologized on the same program “fire for fire” live on Adom TV.

He was on the show with his colleague Patrick Osei Agyemang popularly known as “Country Man Songo”. He also added his voice by way of apology to the NOC President.

Kobby Stone mentioned that he did not mean in any way to make such statements to defame Mr. Nunoo in any way.

Therefore he retracts all the statements personally directed to the President of the Ghana Olympic Committee.

” We only meant to put the GOC on their toes in a professional way as we always do because of the love we have for sports in Ghana our nation, we ask that Mr. Nunoo Mensah forgives us”.

It is a good thing that the notice of caution that was issued was adhered to by Kobby Stone and Multimedia for peace to reign in Ghana sports.

We look forward to see the Ghana Olympic Committee reach greater heights
