OpenLife Nigeria reports that Kim Kardashian found herself startled when her 12-year-old daughter, North West, cheekily asked followers for money during a recent Instagram Live session.
The 45-year-old reality star joined her daughter for the livestream but stayed largely off-camera, peeking only occasionally with a hand gesture to show she was nearby. The short clip quickly gained traction on social media, delighting fans with its candid humor.
North appeared visibly frustrated, seemingly hoping her mother’s appearance might encourage viewers to send virtual gifts. Kim, who has reportedly been enjoying a “secret romance” with British Formula 1 driver Lewis Hamilton, chose to remain partially hidden, simply waving her hand behind North and wiggling her fingers.
“You should just show your face, because… I don’t know,” North said, exasperated. “I want some money!” she added, drawing out the last word with a grin that revealed the blacked-out grill she was wearing.
Kim’s reaction was one of shock: “What?!” she exclaimed. “No, we don’t ask no, no, no.”
“OK!” North replied, clearly frustrated by the rejection.
After gently scolding her eldest daughter, Kim softened, asking, “What do you mean?”
North began explaining, “Because, TikTok Live, like” but Kim interrupted: “This isn’t TikTok Live, this is Instagram.”
“So you were, like, kind of messed up for a second,” Kim added warmly, as North reassured her, “I know, I know.”
Laughing at the mix-up, Kim admitted, “I thought you were asking me for something.”
The moment highlighted both the generational clash of social media habits and the playful, real-life dynamics between mother and daughter showing that even celebrity families have relatable, funny moments when technology gets mixed up.
