OpenLife Nigeria reports that Festus Keyamo, newly appointed Minister of Aviation has disclosed what he would do with the previous road map in the Ministry.
This followed the inauguration of Ministers by President Bola Ahmed Tinubu on Monday, August 21, at the Banquet Hall of the Presidential Villa, Abuja.
Keyamo, who has assumed duty, has pledged to make transparency his watchword.
He said, “I have read the roadmap, the one developed in 2016, I read it thoroughly, our intention is not to disrupt things that have been done so well if there are things that have not been done so well, we will look at it thoroughly.
“We may have to add to the roadmap but not pull it down totally because I know it was a product of a roundtable, so if it was well thought out, I like the structure that I saw”.
He further stated that his appointment by President Bola Tinubu was not a mistake, noting that he intends to get briefings from departments and agencies in the next few days and come up with their own proposals to develop the sector.
Speaking earlier on behalf of the Directors and staff of the Ministry, Permanent Secretary, Dr. Emmanuel Meribole expressed happiness and preparedness of staff to work with the Minister.
‘‘We know you are here to continue the good work of Mr. President as concerns the aviation sector and we assure you of our commitment to make sure we delivered our mandate.’’
He assured the minister that the staff of the Ministry is committed to giving him all the needed support to succeed in his mandate.
