Kevin Ikeduba Plans Exit From Nollywood After 25years
OpenLife reports that veteran Nollywood actor Kevin Ikeduba has shared a deeply personal account of his long-standing experience in the Nigerian film industry, revealing that after more than two decades, he is preparing to begin a new life outside the country.
The actor, who has featured in numerous productions over the years, spoke candidly about his dissatisfaction with the financial reality of his career. According to him, the journey has not translated into the level of comfort or stability many assume comes with his profession.
He expressed his frustration in direct terms, saying, “I’ve gained nothing from Nollywood since 25 years.”
Ikeduba explained that the decision to step away from acting did not come lightly, but was influenced by ongoing struggles to meet personal expectations and financial needs despite his years of experience in the industry.
Looking ahead, he revealed his intention to relocate to the United States in search of better prospects and a more secure future. He noted that the move represents an opportunity to rebuild his life in a different environment, away from the challenges he has faced in Nigeria’s entertainment space.
He stated, “I still can’t afford the kind of life I want. That’s why I’ve decided to step away from acting and relocate permanently to the U.S.”
Beyond relocation, Ikeduba also mentioned that he is open to exploring completely new career paths once he settles abroad, including service opportunities or traditional employment options. He added, “If everything works out, I might even join the army there or find a solid job to build a better life.”
His decision adds to the growing wave of professionals seeking opportunities outside the country in search of improved living conditions and career stability.
