OpenLife Nigeria reports that Kebbi State governorship candidate of the Peoples Democratic Party, PDP, Major General Aminu Bande, ret’d, has felicitated Muslims faithful across the country, especially in Kebbi State on the commencement of the holy month of Ramadan.
The highly rated governorship candidate urged Kebbi Muslims to use the holy month to pray for peace in the State adding that the Ramadan period should be used to exhibit the best virtues that Islam teaches.
He further implored Muslims, as well as Christians and other religious groups to demonstrate love, tolerance, empathy, compassion, and peaceful coexistence in this month of Ramadan, which coincides with the Church Lenten fasting season.
Bande prayed that Almighty Allah will grant everyone good health and strength to observe the fasting and other acts of worship associated with it.
He urged his supporters to be calm, urging them to prepare to come out enmass to vote for PDP when a date is re fixed for the inconclusive governorship election which first held on March 18.
“We should rededicate ourselves to the teachings of Islam, cleanse our hearts and enrich it with virtues which the Ramadan fasting requires.
“Let us also commit ourselves to serious prayers for victory in the remaining part of the election because by the grace of Almighty Allah, our government will usher peace, development , growth and prosperity into our dear Kebbi State,” a statement obtained by journalist on Thursday stated.
