Just Two Years On The Saddle As Zenith Bank Group CEO, Adaora Umeoji’s Success Story And Transformational Leadership Resonate Across The Globe {Video}
OpenLife Nigeria reports that in just two years of Dame Adaora Umeoji’s emergence as group CEO of Zenith Bank Plc, her inspirational and focused leadership have yield quantum financial success to the bank.
Adaora Umeoji joined Zenith Bank in 1998 as a relatively junior employee.
Through dint of hard work and dedication to assigned duties, she rose through the ranks to become the bank’s group managing director and Chief Executive on June 1, 2024.
She obtained an Accounting degree from the University of Jos and Master of Laws from the University of Salford in the United Kingdom.
Zenith Bank’s 2025 financial results
Just two years in the saddle as Zenith Bank’s group CEO, the bank recorded profit of N1.04 trillion for the 2025 financial year, with gross earnings rising to N4.19 trillion, reflecting growth across key financial indicators.
This was driven by increased interest income and growth in customer deposits, which stood at N24 trillion, while gross loans expanded to N11 trillion.
Interest income rose by 35 per cent, while net interest income grew by over 50 per cent, indicating effective margin management despite prevailing economic conditions.
According to the bank’s first female CEO, “The Bank’s robust performance is an attestation to the resilience of the Zenith brand, our result-driven strategy, and the adaptability of our people in an evolving operating environment.
“We have fortified our capital base, reset our asset quality, and are well-positioned for sustainable and profitable growth,” Adaora, said.
Continuing, Adaora maintained that “Our performance reaffirms the strength and resilience of the Zenith brand.
We remain committed to delivering long-term shareholder value while ensuring that our balance sheet is robust, liquid, and well-positioned to capture emerging opportunities across our core markets,” she said.
She promised continuous growth, balance sheet strengthening and strategic risk management as well as positioning the institution for sustained performance in subsequent periods.
As part of the bank’s appreciation of Adaora’s commitment to building shareholders’ confidence, they wrote:
