<h4>JUST IN&colon; Shettima Speaks On Fuel Scarcity<&sol;h4>&NewLine;<p>&nbsp&semi;<&sol;p>&NewLine;<p><strong><a href&equals;"https&colon;&sol;&sol;openlife&period;ng&sol;">OpenLife Nigeria<&sol;a><&sol;strong> reports that His Excellency&comma; Vice President Kashim Shettima has resumed work at the Vice President wing of the State House in Abuja&period;<br &sol;>&NewLine;He arrived his office in the Presidential Villa at about 12&colon;39 pm&period;<br &sol;>&NewLine;Kashim Shettima&comma; a former two tenure governor of Borno State was sworn in on Monday&comma; May 29&comma; as Nigeria’s number citizen&comma; replacing Professor Yemi Osibanjo&period;<br &sol;>&NewLine;Speaking to journalists  in his office&comma; the Vice President restated the commitment of himself and his principal&comma; Bola Tinubu&comma; towards bettering the lives of the Nigerian people&period;<br &sol;>&NewLine;When asked about the current fuel scarcity following the president&&num;8217&semi;s inauguration fuel subsidy elimination proclamation&comma; Shettima reiterates the president&&num;8217&semi;s statement promising better years ahead for Nigeria&period;<br &sol;>&NewLine;&OpenCurlyDoubleQuote;There are better years ahead&comma;” the VP was quoted to have said&period;<br &sol;>&NewLine;Meanwhile&comma; in a knee-jerk reaction to the confirmation of fuel subsidies removal by President Bola Ahmed Tinubu’s administration&comma;<a href&equals;"https&colon;&sol;&sol;twitter&period;com&sol;"> marketers and operators have increased petrol pump price to N210-N500 per litre&period;<&sol;a><br &sol;>&NewLine;In his inaugural speech on Monday&comma; the President said since the immediate past President&comma; Muhammadu Buhari&comma; did not budget for fuel subsidies in the second half of the year&comma; the payment is gone for good&period;<br &sol;>&NewLine;Following Tinubu’s pronouncement&comma; long queues at petrol stations emerged across the country on Monday evening&period;<br &sol;>&NewLine;On Tuesday morning&comma; fare that has hovered between N150 and N200 from Egbeda to Ikeja in Lagos sky rocked to N700&period;<br &sol;>&NewLine;In Lagos&comma; the sharp increase in fuel pump price is almost 100 per cent as Lagosians purchase the product for N370&sol;per litre from 180&sol;per litre&period;<br &sol;>&NewLine;In Warri Delta state&comma; the pump price had jumped to N500&sol;per litre&period; In other parts  of Niger state&comma; fuel pump prices had increased to 210 -300&sol;per litre&period;<br &sol;>&NewLine;These price changes happened less than six hours after Tinubu’s announcement during his inaugural speech at Eagle Square&comma; Abuja&period;<&sol;p>&NewLine;<p>&nbsp&semi;<&sol;p>&NewLine;
