OpenLife Nigeria reports that contrary to the submission by famous Nigerian entertainer, Charles Oputa, known by his stage name, Charly Boy to the effect that the Presidential Election Petition Tribunal has fixed September 16 for judgement on the petitions challenging the victory of President Bola Tinubu, fresh information reveals otherwise.
The post by Charley Boy reads, “OBIDIENTS ARE U Ready? Tribunal (PEPT) has announced that the judgment date for the cases involving Peter Obi and the Labour Party against Bola Tinubu, INEC, Shettima, and APC, as well as the PDP’s case of Atiku against APC, INEC, and Tinubu, is scheduled for September 16, 2023.”
But fresh information from an ex banker and politician, Emeka Ezechi, contradicts Charley Boy’s post.
According to Ezechi, the date is false.
Writing on his Facebook wall obtained by OpenLife, Ezechi said “Please disregard the rumour concerning the PEPT Judgement date which is said to have been fixed 16th of Sept 2023. I called the PEPT secretariat and the ObiDatti legal team and both said No official date yet. ”
It would be recalled that Atiku Abubakar, the presidential candidate of the Peoples Democratic Party, PDP, in the February 25 election and his Labour Party, LP, counterpart, Peter Obi had filed petitions asking the Tribunal to sack Tinubu over several allegations.
