Job Description

The company is recruiting to fill the position below:

Position:  Quality Assurance / Quality Control Officer.

Location:  Lekki Free Zone, Ibeju Lekki, Lagos

Job Specification
o To ensure that manufactured products are in line with relevant standards and internal control standards. Check raw materials, parts, and entire products that are being processed in the Valve Assembly Plant.
o Ensure tests are run, records of defects are kept, products are analysed and overseeing procedures so that each product measures up to the company’s standards.

Responsibilities

o Ensuring that all quality control procedures and standards are followed.
o Implementing corrective actions to address any issues with repaired or defective valves.
o Maintaining documentation and records of quality control activities.
o Staying updated on industry standards and regulations related to valve manufacturing.

o Preparing documents for valve calibration and test. Keeping equipment traceability records.
o Select a random sample of valves and check them carefully using special gauges.
o Check work orders or blueprints to make sure products are up to company standards.
o Note problems in products reject them when necessary and sort them according to the kind of defect. Send products for repair/fix minor problems.

o Record the results of inspections, compute the proportion of products that are defective, and prepare reports.
o Collaborate with the Plant and Engineering managers to determine the cause of recurring defects.
o Conduct product tests and assessments using appropriate test methods, checking that specifications are met and that the product works as intended.

o Identify product defects or potential issues and determine what to do to resolve the issue.
o Record and report issues to help identify and eliminate recurring problems and provide a paper trail to aid in accountability and error reporting. Provide the reports to supervisors/plant managers to help them make decisions about manufacturing processes and practices.

o Support process improvements throughout the testing and quality assurance processes to ensure that products are produced consistently and that defects or other errors will not persist throughout the manufacturing process.
o Work collaboratively with other team members to actualize API 6D recommendations.

Required Person and qualifications

o Holds a Diploma / B.Sc in a Science discipline.
o Knowledge of valves test; Isolation and safety.
o At least 3 years of cognate QAQC experience.
o Demonstrable knowledge of test certificate preparation.
o Sound knowledge of API 6D
o Sound knowledge of Valves surface preparation process.
o Sound knowledge of pressure safety valve certificate.
o Idea of NDT
o Sound computer skills
o HSE Levels 1& 3
o Six Sigma knowledge.
o Proven experience working with minimum supervision.
o Attention to detail to ensure effective assessment and analysis.
o Sound oral and written communication skills.
o Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form.
