Isaac Akinmoyede Assumes Office As Zone 5 AIG, Warns Criminals To Stay Off Edo, Delta


Isaac Akinmoyede takes over as Zone 5 AIG
OpenLife Nigeria reports that Isaac Akinmoyede, an Assistant Inspector General of Police, AIG, has assumed office as the head of Police Zone 5, comprising Edo and Delta States.
Coming at a time insecurity has assumed a frightening dimension in the south and north parts of Nigeria, the former Imo and Plateau States Commissioner has vowed to ensure peaceful atmosphere for business and economic growth in the two States.

Disclosing the resumption, a statement signed by the Zone spokesman, DSP Tijani Momoh and made available to National Association of Online Security Reporters, NAOSRE, stated that the AIG was the immediate past AIG in-charge of Zone 17 Command comprising Ondo and Ekiti States, before his redeployment as AIG Zone 5 Command, Benin.
The statement which detailed several operational and administrative duties held by Akinmoyede in the force, reads:

“Zone 5 Police Command Headquarters, Benin City, wishes to inform the general public and the good people of Delta and Edo States that a new Assistant Inspector- General of Police has been deployed to Zone 5 Command which comprises Delta and Edo State Police Commands.
“The AIG, Isaac O. Akinmoyede, psc, fdc, who assumed duty on April 19, 2021, got
enlisted into the Nigeria Police Force on 15th March, 1988 as a Cadet Assistant Superintendent of Police (Cadet ASP).
“He has served in many parts of the country including Lagos, FCT, Plateau, Osun, Enugu, Imo States and Force CID, Abuja Headquarters.
“Isaac Akinmoyede, until his latest assignment, was at Maritime Command Headquarters, Lagos, Zone 14, Makurdi, Zone 2, Lagos, Zone 6, Calabar and Zone 17, Akure, among others.
“He was the Commissioner of Police, Imo State Police Command until his promotion to the rank of an Assistant Inspector- General of Police last year 2020.
“In the course of his career, the AIG has undergone some professional courses both home and abroad. These include the Management workshop course at Police Staff College, Jos; Civilian Police in Peace keeping operations, at Tashie, Ghana; Information Technology In Law Enforcement, at New Delhi, India; Intermediate, Senior Command and the Assistant/Deputy Commissioner of Police CID courses all at the Police Staff College, Jos.
“Other courses attended by the AIG includes Professional Managers’ course organized by the Nigeria Institute of Management, and the Higher Defense Course at the National Defence College, Abuja, where he was awarded the Fellow of the Defence College (fdc).
“His hobbies include, reading, playing golf and watching football,” DSP Tijani Momoh revealed.
