INEC speaks on postponing 2023 election

<p><strong>The <a href&equals;"http&colon;&sol;&sol;Openlife&period;ng">Independent National Electoral Commission &lpar;INEC&rpar;<&sol;a> on Saturday promised that it will not postpone the 2023 general elections because financially&comma; it is ready&period;<&sol;strong><&sol;p>&NewLine;<p>INEC’s Head of Operations in Gombe State&comma; Aminu Isah&comma; gave this assurance during an engagement with youth-focused groups in the North-East region&period;<&sol;p>&NewLine;<p>The INEC official disclosed that unlike in the past&comma; the Commission had received the needed resources that would make the electoral processes smooth&period;<&sol;p>&NewLine;<p>&OpenCurlyDoubleQuote;INEC has gotten all its funds ahead of the elections&period; There will not be any possible postponement of 2023 elections&comma; unlike the 2019&comma;” Isah said&period;<&sol;p>&NewLine;<p>There have been concerns over the 2023 election due to the heightened attacks on INEC offices in some parts of Nigeria&period;<&sol;p>&NewLine;<p>Some diaspora-based separatists are calling on people of the southeast region to boycott the forthcoming election&comma; while armed collaborators have launched deadly attacks on innocent citizens and security operatives&period;<&sol;p>&NewLine;
