Ahmed Iliyasu, Assistant Inspector General of Police, AIG in charge of Zone 2 and the newly appointed Director of Public Prosecution, DPP, Mrs. Aderera Olayinka Adeyemi, have promised to work together for effective criminal justice administration as part of President Buhari’s next level agenda.
The two disclosed this commitment when the newly appointed DPP paid a courtesy visit on the AIG on Thursday 18th June 2020.
A statement signed by Zonal Police Public Relations Officer, DSP Hauwa Idris-Adamu, stated that the visit was in furtherance of the collaborative efforts of the Police and the Office of the Directorate of Public Prosecution in ensuring justice is served.
The AIG and members of the Zonal Police management team received the Director and her entourage in his office at the Zonal Command Headquarters, Onikan Lagos.
In her remarks, the Director commended officers of the Zonal command for the quality and proper investigation of cases and implore them to do more in the areas of Proper Police Investigation, preservation of evidences and Prosecution of Offenders of gender based cases. The AIG in his response, reiterated the commitment and readiness of the Zone to collaborate in The Administration of Criminal Justice, ACJA 2015.
