OpenLife Nigeria reports that the Ijaw leader of All Progressives Congress APC in Delta State, High Chief Michael Johnny has faulted calls from certain persons demanding for the sack of Engineer Wabote, the Executive Secretary, Nigerian Content Development and Monitoring Board, NCDMB.
Johnny, a former APC Senatorial aspirant, Delta South district, told newsnen on Saturday, that those persons, particularly from the Niger Delta region championing the blackmail and agitating for sacking of Wabote, should have a rethink, and desist from such an ungodly act.
The Ijaw chief, said ” we are still demanding for more federal appointments for our indigenes in Niger Delta region, and some persons are mischievously calling for the sack of an indigene of Niger Delta, Engr. Wabote over yet to be proven allegations. The Ijaws and Niger Delta people would not accept any sinister move to unjustly remove Wabote from office”.
The former chairman of Egbema Gbaramatu Communities Development Council said, ” I, Chief Michael Johnny, I have never met with Engr. Wabote and I have never had any dealings with him whatsoever.
“However,
Johnny, urged President Muhammadu Buhari and Minister of State for Petroleum Resources, Timipre Sylva to ignore calls to sack Engineer Wabote, Executive Secretary, Nigerian Content Development and Monitoring Board NCDMB, who is performing his duty, adding that every plot to distabilize the region must be rejected.
The Ijaw activist, noted that Engineer Wabote should be allowed to do his job for which he was appointed by President Muhammadu Buhari, pointing out that Wabote is still innocent of whatever allegations being made against him.
It will be recalled that Wabote was accused of alleged non-disclosure of two existing foreign accounts, Bank of America and HSBC in his Code of Conduct Bureau (CCB) form among others.
