‘If All You Bring Is Money, You’re Shallow’ — Timini Egbuson Sparks Relationship Debate

OpenLife Nigeria reports that Nollywood star Timini Egbuson has opened up about how age and life experience have reshaped his views on love and relationships.

Speaking in a recent interview with Jay On-Air TV, the 38-year-old actor reflected on his romantic journey, admitting that his earlier understanding of relationships was largely driven by money.

According to him, he once believed that being financially stable was the key ingredient needed to keep a relationship alive a belief he now sees as limited.
With maturity, Timini says his outlook has changed.

While he still recognises the importance of being financially responsible, he no longer views money as the foundation of a healthy partnership.

“I still think money is important, but what I realise now is that money is just one out of many things that matter,” he said.

The actor explained that lasting relationships are built on deeper elements than material comfort alone. He emphasised that traits such as character, personality, emotional intelligence and shared values are far more crucial in creating genuine bonds.

“If all you can bring to a relationship is money, then you’re a very shallow man,” Timini stated.

He attributed this shift in mindset to personal growth and lessons learned from real-life experiences.

According to him, emotional depth, mutual respect and understanding have become non-negotiable for him in relationships.

Timini also pointed out that many people mistake financial provision for love, overlooking the importance of companionship, emotional support and true connection qualities he believes are essential for any relationship to thrive.
