<p>The 2026 Grammys came and went, and South African star Tyla walked away with the Best African Music Performance award for her hit Push 2 Start, leaving fans buzzing across the continent.</p>
<p>Among those weighing in is Nigerian singer Joeboy, who recently shared his thoughts in a candid chat with Jay On-Air.</p>
<p>Joeboy admitted he had secretly hoped Davido would take home the award, but he had nothing but respect for Tyla’s achievement.</p>
<p>“While I personally hoped Davido would win the Best African Music Performance award at this year’s Grammys, you can’t take away what Tyla has achieved.</p>
<p>She’s an exceptional artist and put in a lot of effort,” he said.</p>
<p>He added, “People may have their opinions, but Tyla truly deserved the Grammy. I have no issue with her win.”</p>
<p>The Nigerian singer also hinted at a potential collaboration with Tyla in the future, praising her talent and professionalism.</p>
<p>With heavyweights like Omah Lay, Wizkid, Ayra Starr, and Burna Boy in the mix, Tyla’s victory proves that hard work and originality pay off, earning her the respect of fellow artists like Joeboy.
