How Nigerian Leading Artists Were Rated

OpenLife Nigeria reports how Nigerian leading artists were rated on the 2025 America’s billboard music chart.

Billboard is an American entertainment magazine founded in 1894, primarily known for its influential music charts like the Hot 100 and Billboard 200.

It is published weekly by Penske Media Corporation and the magazine provides industry news and reviews based on sales, streaming and radio airplay.

As the American music magazine, Billboard, unveiled its 2025 list of the Top 50 Best Afrobeats Songs of All Time, 2Face’s classic hit, African Queen clinched the number one spot.

L-R: Burna Boy, Davido and Wizkid, recognized at Billboard rating

The iconic track, released in 2004, has long been regarded as one of Afrobeats’ defining records and continues to resonate globally, earning it the crown as the genre’s all-time best.

Wizkid made history as the only artist with two entries in the top 10, with Ojuelegba ranked second and his Grammy-nominated hit Essence featuring Tems at number five.

Favour’s Nwa Baby (Ashawo Remix) took the third spot, while Rema’s global smash Calm Down was placed fourth. CKay’s Love Nwantiti, D’banj’s Oliver Twist, Davido’s Fall, Burna Boy’s Ye, and P-Square’s Chop My Money (Remix) featuring Akon completed the top 10.

Although Nigerian artists dominated the list, Ghanaian stars also secured spots in the top 20, with Fuse ODG’s Azonto (feat. Itz Tiffany) and Sarkodie’s Adonai (feat. Castro) ranked 18 and 19 respectively.
