OpenLife Nigeria reports that billionaire sensational musician and philanthropist of note, David Adeleke, known in the entertainment circle as Davido, has opened up on what transpired in the early days of his relationship with his wife, Chioma.
In an interview with YouTuber and vlogger, Tayo Aina, the Afrobeats singer, said he first met Chioma while they were both studying at Babcock University.
The singer mentioned he was pursuing a degree in music, while Chioma studied Economics.
He said in part, “I was in school for a year before I blew up. That was when I met my wife. I remember the day I saw her. I can never forget it.
“I was in a Prado, and I looked behind and I saw this girl walking. Just there with her bag, it was Chioma.
“I told Lati omo I like that girl, go and call that girl for me.
“He called her but she did not answer me at the time. Later on, she came to Lagos and we linked up. And I was like, yeah, I got you,” Davido disclosed.
Chioma Rowland was born in Owerri, Imo State, on April 1, 1995. She and her two sisters, Jennifer and Ifunanya, spent their childhood in Owerri. After that, Chioma attended Babcock University and majored in Economics. Unfortunately, she dropped out of school after meeting Davido in her third year.
Although Davido and Chioma’s romance began while they were students at Babcock University, it was kept a secret until Davido made headlines about it.
Davido confirmed their relationship after attending the Adeleke family event in Ede, Osun State, Nigeria, in January 2018. Davido continued to showcase Chioma on social media after the family event, which helped her gain popularity.
When Davido’s Assurance video, which he debuted on May 1st, 2018, was released, it became obvious that they were both in love. Additionally, in December 2018, he invited Chioma to the stage during one of his most popular performances. They had their introduction on September 2, 2019
