How IBB Saved Uche Secondus

How IBB Saved Uche
OpenLife Nigeria can reports that Prince Uche Secondus, the embattled national chairman of the Peoples Democratic Party, PDP, barely any last-minute change of agreement, would serve out his term honourably as against the ongoing agitation by some of the party’s stakeholders that he should resign immediately.
Uche Secondus has been accused by party stalwarts to have committed infractions including lackluster administrative style which led to the depletion in its governor’s rank.
As a result, those who are calling for his head have lost patience so much so that they are not prepared to entertain him till December 2021 by which time his four-year tenure would have expired.
While the horse-trading goes on, General Ibrahim Babangida, former military Head of State was said to have called Governor Aminu Waziri Tambuwal of Sokoto State to “Allow Secondus to complete his tenure and prepare to get another chairman if you guys are no longer ready to have him as your chairman,” IBB was quoted to have told Tambuwal who leads the PDP Governors Forum.
OpenLife credible source further revealed that it was as a result of IBB’s call late yesterday that provided the peace moves by Tambuwal at today’s meeting.
Governor Tambuwal, while speaking today in Abuja said that the PDP Governors’ Forum is committed to working together to move the party forward.
“We have resolved to work together as a Forum on the side of our party,” Gov. Tambuwal said while announcing that “the meeting continues tomorrow, Tuesday.“
“Very soon Nigerians will know that our party is united,” he explained.

Meanwhile, Tambuwal is believed to have IBB’s listening ears.” You know Tambuwal was one of the young Nigeria IBB referred in that interview who should be supported for the 2023 presidency,” our source further squealed.

Secondus, in a statement by his media aide, Ike Abonyi, on Monday, said he had not committed any offence to warrant his resignation.
He said those demanding his exit should tell party members across the country what his offence was.
The terse statement said, “The National Chairman of the Peoples Democratic Party, PDP, Prince Uche Secondus has said that he will not resign his position.
“Prince Secondus said in a short statement from his media office that nothing so far warrants his resignation from the party position and those tiny minority calling for his resignation should come clean and tell party members across the country his offence why he should resign.
“He said he will remain focused and committed to the ideals of the party which he swore to protect and defend upon his election to lead this great party 44 months ago.”
The chairman’s statement came a few hours after the PDP caucus in the House of Representatives demanded his resignation.
The caucus, which met last Saturday, in a communique, said the party would be in grave danger if Mr Secondus is allowed to continue in office in the next three months.
The lawmakers asked the Board of Trustees (BOT) of the party and the PDP Governors Forum to commence the re-engineering of the party.
