How I should be addressed by Femi Falana was discussed on national TV
OpenLife Nigeria gathers that Femi Falana, a human rights activist and Senior Advocate of Nigeria, SAN, has clarified how he should be addressed in public.
Speaking on a national TV on Monday, February 1, the Ekiti State born popular lawyer cautioned Nigerians to desist from addressing him as a chief.
“I am not a chief and how I want to be addressed is different from what you are calling me,” he stressed.
Falana noted further that rather than call him a chief, he is simply a Mr.
“I am a Mr. I don’t want to be accused of bearing any name under false pretence,” he advised.
During the programme, Falana advised state governments to set up anti corruption body that would facilitate the fight against corruption.
He singled out governor Abdullahi Umar Ganduje of Kano State among Nigerian club of governors threading the constitutional path of fighting corruption.
“The constitution empowers States to set up anti corruption agencies. Federal EFCC and ICPC do not have enough staff to go round the 36 states and Federal Capital Territory investigating corruption cases,” he stated.
