How CCECC Personnel Manager Ordered Security To Beat Us Up–Mrs Wickliffe

<p><em>How CCECC Personnel Manager threw caution to the wing<&sol;em><br &sol;>&NewLine;<strong><a href&equals;"https&colon;&sol;&sol;openlife&period;ng&sol;">OpenLife Nigeria<&sol;a><&sol;strong> reports that an aged woman&comma; Mrs&period; Stella Temidayo Wickliffe and her two sons&&num;8211&semi;Bankole and Oluwole including her brother in-law&comma; Mr&period; Kayode Faderin were allegedly beaten up mercilessly on the order of the personnel manager of China Civil Engineering Construction Corporation&comma; CCECC&period;<br &sol;>&NewLine;According to the available story&comma; Mrs&period; Wickliffe said that at about 4pm on February 25&comma; 2021&comma; while driving her Lexus 300 saloon car&comma; a trailer belonging to the Chinese company hit her vehicle&period;<br &sol;>&NewLine;She recognized the driver as Abdul Rasheed&period;<br &sol;>&NewLine;Knowing the gravity of the offence&comma; Wickliffe said Abdul Rasheed resorted to begging and requested they both moved to her office for settlement and repairs which she obliged&period;<br &sol;>&NewLine;According to Wickliffe&comma; &&num;8220&semi;upon arriving at the company&&num;8217&semi;s construction site at <a href&equals;"https&colon;&sol;&sol;punchng&period;com&sol;">Alagbomeji&comma;<&sol;a> the Personnel Manager of the Company&comma; &lpar;Mr&period; Adebayo&rpar; and his Assistant instructed the company&&num;8217&semi;s security men and some thugs numbering about 10 to beat them up&period;<br &sol;>&NewLine;&&num;8220&semi;Indeed&comma; we were beaten to stupor for just no reason&comma; we were prevented from recording the incident in their premises&period; We were assaulted&comma; molested and brutalized with military belts&comma; planks and woods by the security men and thugs&period;<br &sol;>&NewLine;One of them named&comma; Taribo wore military fatigue&comma; disguising to be military man&comma;&&num;8221&semi; Mrs&period; Wickliffe said&period;<br &sol;>&NewLine;Bankole and Oluwole Wickliffe have to seek for medical attention at the Hoare&&num;8217&semi;s Memorial Methodist Cathedral and Clinic Yaba for injuries sustained in the course of the beaten&comma; where they were examined&comma; diagnosed and treated for severe injuries&period;<br &sol;>&NewLine;According to her&comma; &&num;8220&semi;we really suffered physical&comma; psychological and mental torture from the company&comma; as well as incurred huge medical bills conducting series of medical test as a result of injuries sustained from company&&num;8217&semi;s security men and thugs on the order Personnel Manager and his Assistant&period;<br &sol;>&NewLine;Wickliffe&comma; says she would petition appropriate authority and demand corresponding payment for the assault and brutalization meted out to them by the company&&num;8217&semi;s security men and thugs&period;<&sol;p>&NewLine;<p>Messages sent to CCECC by OpenLife Nigeria  for response to the allegations were not responded to before filing this report&period;<&sol;p>&NewLine;<p>&nbsp&semi;<&sol;p>&NewLine;

Nollywood Actress, Shine Rosman, Raises Alarm Over Alleged Sexual Harassment In Lagos OpenLife reports that Nollywood actress Shine Rosman has spoken about what she describes as ongoing incidents of sexual harassment affecting women in parts of Lagos, particularly in Yaba. She said the issue is widely known among residents but remains unaddressed. “Do you know how bad sexual harrssment is in Lagos? Like go to Yaba, as a girl and see how you will be touched inappropriately. Everybody hearing this knows that it is true. But till today, nothing is being done about it.” She described what she claims are repeated incidents of inappropriate contact in public spaces without consequences for those responsible. “You’re walking in Yaba and people are touching you inappropriately and nothing will happen.” Rosman questioned the absence of effective intervention and raised concerns about personal safety in such environments. “If the government is not going to do anything, is it not ok for us to defend ourselves? In 2026, in a country like Nigeria, s+xual har+ssment is still one of the most passive things.” She also raised concerns about the implications of such behaviour occurring in open public spaces. “If a man can s+xually h+rass you casually during the day, what do you think he can do behind closed doors when no one is looking?”. The comments were made during an interview with Tolu Afilaka, where she discussed women’s safety in public areas of Lagos.
