OpenLife Nigeria reports that as the crises between former governor of Osun State, Engineer Rauf Aregbesola and incumbent governor Gboyega Oyetola rages, seasoned politician and former stalwart of the ruling All Progressives Congress, APC, Mr. Tunji Babatunde has said that such crises at this election period though not unexpected but is highly uncalled for.
Tunji who spoke exclusively to OpenLife Friday morning maintained that the tension the crises have generated is the reason lots of individuals have postponed some of their activities scheduled to hold in Osun State.
He stated that his club meeting which was expected to hold in Oshogbo on Saturday has been postponed because of APC primary election where Aregbesola and Oyetola are digging deeper in the trenches to unleash deadly political assault on each other.
“We are apprehensive and that is the reason some of us are avoiding Osun State for now. We don’t want to be caught in the cross fire,” Tunji stated.
However, Tunji was once a board member of TETFUND {Secondary education} in Osun State emphasized that Aregbesola is greedy adding that the reason he left APC in 2014 to take up chairmanship of Labour party {2014-2019] was due largely to the greediness of some party chieftains amongst whom is Aregbesola.
He stated that he foresees a situation where Oyetola would rubbish Aregbesola in the primary election saying that lots of the delegates are loyal to the governor.
It would be recalled that Ogbeni Rauf Aregbesola, former governor of the State now Minister of Interior, has been at logger heads with the national leader of the All Progressive Congress, APC, Bola Tinubu over leadership tussle.
