Donald Trump At UNGA 81: My Plans Against Drug Cartel, Terrorism

Donald Trump At UNGA 81

OpenLife News reports that at the 81st United Nations General Assembly on Tuesday, President Donald Trump laid out how his administration is strengthening America to lead the global fight against drug cartels, terrorism and violent crime, declaring that “America is BACK and stronger than ever.”

Trump said the foundation of his security strategy is the most secure border in American history, reversing what he called the worst and most dangerous border before he took office.

He told world leaders that in the past 16 months, zero illegal aliens have been admitted to the United States and that entry is now only by invitation and permission – a move he said cuts off trafficking routes used by cartels and criminal networks.

The President linked border enforcement directly to public safety, announcing that last year America achieved the largest drop in violent crime ever recorded, with the murder rate plummeting to its lowest level in 125 years, since 1900.

As part of his domestic anti-crime offensive, Trump said he sent federal “busters” into Memphis, Tennessee and New Orleans, Louisiana, where crime fell by over 80%, and into Washington D.C., where he said crime was down 87% since January 20th last year and is heading to 100%.

He said tourism is now thriving and restaurants are bustling in a secured capital. On external security, Trump announced the largest military buildup in recent history, saying his administration has invested more money in the U.S. military in the past 12 months than ever before, with total investment this term to hit $1.5 trillion.

He described the U.S. military as the most powerful on earth with technology second to none, positioned to confront terrorism and transnational criminal threats.

Trump argued that economic strength underpins security.

He cited over one million new private sector jobs created since taking office, a poverty rate at its lowest level in American history after lifting 1.5 million Americans out of poverty, African American and Hispanic poverty at all-time lows, and real household income at a record $87,000 average.

He added that U.S. markets have set 80 all-time records in the last 12 months, and the country has secured $21 trillion in new investment commitments, compared to less than $1 trillion in four years under the previous administration.

“We inherited a dark age of America from the previous administration and we turned it into the golden age of America,” Trump said, adding that a newly energized and powerful United States is lifting the entire world while leading the fight against cartels, terrorism and lawlessness.
