Gunmen suspected to be Fulani Herdsmen have abducted three persons believed to be federal workers along the Lagos-Ibadan expressway.
This is coming exactly one week after four passengers were abducted while their driver was killed at Onigari axis of the Lagos-Ibadan expressway.
The kidnappers, numbering about 10, were said to have emerged from a bush along the expressway shooting sporadically at vehicles and other commuters.
It was gathered that the victims, who are staff members of a construction company, were coming from an event when their car broke down. Sources disclose that the car was being repaired when the assailants emerged from the bush and ambushed them.
The niece of one of the victims took to her official Twitter handle and said; “My Uncle has been kidnapped together with two of his friends along lagos – ibadan expressway… SOUTH WEST IS ON FIRE.. the fulanis are taking over our bushes, they video called and these kidnappers are on military uniforms speaking hausa .
“This happened yesterday on their way back to lagos from an event in ibadan… they’re demanding 20M, 5M per head.. and they said they’d kill them by 12 tomorrow if the money is not available.. Yoruba land is no longer safe, they are here, the fulanis are here.”
