Governor Samuel Ortom, not leaving anything to chance has declared Friday, November 6 as harvesting day in Benue State

OpenLife reports that Benue State, reputed for its cultivation of yam, cassava maize, rice, and a host of other crops, is making a loud statement in harvesting this year.
On account of this, the State governor, Samuel Ioraer Ortom, conscious of the wholesome yields in 2020 has declared Friday, November 6 a work-free day for civil servants.
The holiday, according to OpenLife’s findings, would enable civil servants the opportunity to harvest their farm produce.
In a statement signed by Mrs Ngunan Addingi the state Commissioner for Information, Culture and Tourism, the State government has “Declared Fridays as work-free days is to improve food security in the state.”
However, the work-free days which spans November 6 to January 29, 2021, but normal weekly work schedule will resume on February 5, 2021.
