<h4>Governor Radda Moves</h4>
<p><strong><a href="https://openlife.ng/">OpenLife Nigeria</a></strong> reports that Katsina State Government, under the leadership of Governor Dikko Umaru Radda, has taken a significant step towards strengthening its support for Internally Displaced Persons (IDPs) within the state.</p>
<p>According to a statement signed by Ibrahim Kaula Mohammed, Chief Press Secretary to Katsina State Governor and sighted by OpenLife, a steering committee has been inaugurated by the governor to develop an enabling law based on the National Policy for IDPs.</p>
<p>This committee, led by Governor Radda, will study and make recommendations for the proposed law.</p>

<p>The Secretary to the State Government, Barrister Abdullahi Garba Faskari, will serve as the Vice Chairman, while the Executive Director for Development Partners of the State Development Management Agency Hajiya Maryam Musa-Yahaya will act as the Secretary.</p>
<p><em><strong>&#8220;The committee will meticulously examine the National Policy and Action Plan for IDPs to ensure our proposed law effectively addresses their needs,&#8221;</strong></em> Governor Radda said during the inauguration.</p>
<p><em><strong> &#8220;Our goal is to create a draft law that will be submitted to the State House of Assembly for legislative action,&#8221; </strong></em>the governor added</p>
<p>Governor Radda expressed appreciation to the World Bank for its initiative in addressing the challenges faced by IDPs.</p>
<p>He highlighted the project&#8217;s focus on livelihoods, infrastructure improvements, and facilitating the return of IDPs to normalcy.</p>
<p><em><strong>&#8220;Katsina State, alongside other states in the Northwest, has been heavily impacted by security issues,&#8221;</strong></em> Governor Radda explained.</p>
<p>He emphasized that &#8220;<em><strong>This committee underlines our commitment to finding solutions and underscores the need for additional support to tackle this ongoing problem.&#8221;</strong></em></p>
<p>The committee will include representatives from various government departments, including the Commissioners for <a href="https://www.vanguardngr.com/">Rural and Social Development, Works and Housing, Land and Physical Planning, Youths and Sports Development, Budget and Economic Planning, and Women&#8217;s Affairs</a>.</p>
<p>Additionally, the Economic Adviser, Director-General of the State Enterprise Development Agency, and the Special Adviser on Rural Economy will be part of the committee.</p>
<p>Governor Radda clarified that the Committee Secretary will assume the Chair role in his absence.</p>
