Governor Dapo Abiodun Builds Agro Cargo Airport In Ogun State

OpenLife Nigeria reports that as the people of OgunState lament the poor and deplorable state of roads in the gateway state, the governor, in his conventional wisdom has made significant progress in the construction of modern agro-allied cargo airport in Ilisan Remo.
The young governor has indicated the airport will be ready for use by November 2022.
The project which begun in March 2021 is set to provide at least 25,000 jobs.
“The agro cargo airport will have positive effects on hotels and warehouses being constructed in the area.
“ The Nigeria Customs and the Nigerian Air Force are coming there.
“We have a firm belief in inclusive agricultural opportunities that will not cut off smallholder farmers, youths and women” said Governor Dapo Abiodun.
Continuing, Abiodun said the airport is going to give exporters the leeway to export cocoa, kolanut, rubber, tobacco, cassava, yam, maize, sweet potato, oil palm, timbre and cashew, among others, adding that it would enable exporters bypass the bottlenecks of the Murtala Muhammad International Airport in Lagos.
He noted further that industries will spring up as soon as it commences operations.
Meanwhile, residents of Ogun State ae lamenting the deplorable state of roads in their areas, calling on Governor Dapo Abiodun to do the needful.
Majority of the complaints on Ogun roads are coming from Sango, Ota, Ifo, Ijoko, Akute, Agbado, Oke Aro, Alagbole, Lambe, Atan, Owode-Ilaro and others.
Residents of the areas said both the state and federal governments have forgotten them as though they are not existing.
Yewa-Awori people, under whom the majority of the bad roads are located, alleged being marginalised by the state government, saying their area would develop only if they could unite and produce a governor in subsequent elections.
Despite being the industrial hub of the state, the people of Ado-Odo/Ota Local Government, opined that those in the helms of affairs use the funds generated in the area to develop other regions.
The people groaned that they could no longer go out with their cars, expressing worry that industries in the local government have started to relocate.
