Governor Ben Ayade and his cabinet’s gross incompetence in governing Cross River State is suffocating the traditional palace of the Obong of Calabar, Edidem Ekpo Okon Abasi Otu V
OpenLife reports that Governor Ben Ayade of Cross River State may have performed abysmally low.
This verdict is coming from no less a quarter than the head of the traditional rulers in the 44 years old State, Edidem Ekpo Okon Abasi Otu V, the Obong of Calabar.
Over the weekend, the outspoken first class traditional ruler voiced out his resentment over the poor showing of Ben Ayade as governor of the State.
He told a delegation led by former Governor Liyel Imoke who paid him a courtesy visit following the devastating destruction that took place in Calabar, that Ben Ayade’s choice was an error that should be corrected as quickly as possible.
As a remedy, the Obong of Calabar
recommended an annual vacation for Ayade so that an interim government, made up of credible Cross Riverians, would manage the state’s resources for better results.
Ben Ayade became governor of Cross River State on the platform of Peoples Democratic Party, PDP, in 2015.
He immediately embarked on an estimated N700 billion signature projects some of which included a 274 kilometres superhighway, Bakassi Deep seaport.
At the moment, some of these projects exist only on paper, a development that has made the youthful governor weep uncontrollably in public
