Why governor Bello Yahaya cannot be President of Nigeria has been exposed in the Senate
OpenLife Nigeria reports that as governor Bello Yahaya of Kogi State externalizes his intention to be Nigeria’s President in 2023, Senate Minority Leader, Senator Enyinnaya Harcourt Abaribe has voiced his opposition to Bello’s aspiration.
Speaking on the floor of the Senate, Senator Abaribe who represents Abia South Senatorial District of Abia State in the Senate punctured the agitation for youth in governance.
He cited governor Bello Yahaha as a bad example of youth in democratic governance.
The outspoken Senator who has been in the Senate since 2007 said:
“It is not youth we need . We need idea. People say we need youth. But the man in kogi State {Referring to governor Bello} is a youth but he does not know what he is doing. There so much insecurity in Kogi. That does not give credence to the agitation to hand over to youth. Supposed we hand over to him {Governor Bello}, we will have a broken country thrown to the dogs,” he said.
Meanwhile, as Senator Abaribe marshals points against governor Bello Yahaya’s aspiration, a group under the auspices of Ebira Youth Congress (EYC) has insisted that Governor Bello has all it takes to contest and win the highest political office in the country.
The youth association President – General, Obiyo Aliyu, who disclosed this during a media parley maintained that the youthful governor posses leadership, passion, commitment to aspiration, youth and grassroots acceptance, and a true servant-leader of the masses that qualified him for the position .
Governor Bello who hails from Olamaboro in Kogi Central Senatorial District was born on June 18, 1975.
