Governor Alia Set To Revive Benue State University

OpenLife Nigeria reports that in order to entrench efficiency and rev up its productivity, the Executive Governor of Benue State, Rev. Fr. Dr. Hyacinth Iormem Alia, has dissolved the Governing Council of Benue State University.
Governor Alia is the current Visitor to the university founded in 1992 by late Moses Orshio Adasu through Edict No. 1 of 1991.
According to a press statement signed by Tersoo Kula, spokesman to the Governor and made available to newsmen on Monday, the dissolution is with immediate effect.
“The Governor has constituted a seven-man Visitation Panel with the mandate to amongst other things, thoroughly audit the activities of the university from 2016 when the last panel visited.
“The panel is to comprehensively investigate activities at the institution and report back accordingly for necessary action(s), ” the statement disclosed.
Other terms of reference for the panel are contained in the letter conveying the decision of the Visitor. The panel is headed by Professor Gab.
