OpenLife Nigeria reports that the Ogun State Internal Revenue Service (OGIRS) has issued a note of warning to Tax Agents in the State to file their 2023 Annual Tax Returns before the deadline as there will not be extension of the due date.
According to the Executive Chairman OGIRS, Mr. Olugbenga Olaleye who gave the warning in a release from his office in Abeokuta, Tax Agents were expected to statutorily file their 2023 employees Tax returns on or before 31st January, 2024.
The warning disclosed that failure to file the Tax returns within the time frame would attract a penalty of five hundred thousand naira only.
He enjoined them as responsible citizens to carry out their civic responsibilities as expected to enable the government deliver on its electoral promises.
