Governor Abiodun Moves
OpenLife Nigeria reports that Ogun State Governor, Dapo Abiodun, has made moves to achieve the estimated N100.81 billion Internally Generated Revenue, IGR, projection in the 2024 budget.
The governor, some days back, presented the 2024 Appropriation Bill of N703.028 billion to the State House of Assembly.
Christened as ‘Budget of sustain growth and development’, Abiodun said the budget will be funded with Internally Generated Revenue (IGR), estimated at N100.81 billion and statutory allocation from Federal Government estimated at N182.05 billion, among others.
To achieve the targeted IGR, Ogun State Government has issued a 48hour ultimatum to Oluwanisola cattle market, Kara Isheri, Ifo Local Government Area of the state, to come up with amicable resolution to issues of poor environmental condition of the market and revenue remittance to government’s coffers.
Commissioner for Agriculture, Hon. Bolu Owotomo gave the directive at a meeting held with the leaders of the market, led by Seriki Hausa Community, Alhaji Mohammed Badamosi in his office at Oke-Mosan, saying if necessary steps were not taken within the speculated period, drastic steps would be taken by the state government.
According to the Commissioner, “The government is not happy with the revenue being remitted to government coffers and the poor environmental condition of the market. So, you have to come up with an amicable resolution on these two major issues.”
He implored traders to cooperate with the government in its resolve to ensure adequate welfare and wellbeing of the people of the state irrespective of their tribes or religions, assuring that the present administration is poised to deliver dividends of democracy to all and sundry.
