Go And Amend Your Collapsing Family First Before Embarking On Judgment

OpenLife Nigeria reports that 2Face Idibia’s remark that Burna Boy is globally ahead of Wizkid and Davido in terms of rating has provoked torrent reaction from Wizkid.

The veteran Nigerian recording artiste Innocent Idibia, better known as 2Face, has spoken about the current flagbearers of the prominent Afrobeats music genre.

Speaking in a new interview on the Mic On Podcast, 2Face shared his thoughts on the current generation of superstars, Burna Boy, Wizkid, and Davido, and who he believes is leading the pack today.

Host Seun Okinbaloye asked 2Face, “If you were to choose one of the music of these artists, which one would you choose?” 2Face responded with respect for all, but singled out Burna Boy as being “on top of the game right now.”

He explained his perspective by saying, “Artistry, like I said earlier, different people have different styles. You understand what I’m saying? So every artist is a major in his field. So there’s nothing like one sings better than the other.”

But when it comes to overall artistry and impact, he emphasised Burna’s unique talent, “If an artist does this painting now, the next one he will paint will be different. So that’s how I see it.”

2Face further clarified his viewpoint, saying, “Different people will have different tastes of what they want and like. But I am going into a general aspect of this.”

He made it clear that his judgment is based on music and artistry alone, not on personal wealth or success, noting, “I don’t know their bank accounts, I don’t have any information about their personal successes or all that, I don’t have that.

From what I can measure from at least common sense and understanding of the music world, I think right now Burna is on top of this chain. Not just in Nigeria, in Africa, in the world.”
Reacting, Wizkid came strong on 2Face, advising the Benue State born artist to fix his family challenges first before embarking on musical judgement.

“At least make peace with, your family first before, having opinions about music. Old man, I’m never letting it slack in 2026” – Wizkid just replied to 2Baba via Snapchat for saying Burna Boy is ahead of him.
