GNACOPS warns and is in war or words with teachers association over school re opening
OpenLife Nigeria reports that council of private schools in Ghana called Ghana National Council of Private Schools, GNACOPS has taken serious exemption to the position of Ghana National Association of Teachers, GNAT, on the modalities and scope of schools reopening.
OpenLife Nigeria gathered that the private school union has fully replied the Ghana National Association of Teachers has fully replied the Ghana National Association of Teachers, GNAT , saying they can advise the government to close down public schools but not private schools.
The sole decision taken by some teacher unions to advising the government to close down schools again, just after few hours of reopening of schools is just unfortunate and uncouth.
The Ghana National Association of Teachers (GNAT) has in a release thrown its weight behind various institutions calling for re-closure of basic schools due to lack of personal protective Equipments, PPE,s.
Contrary to their request and recommendation, the Ghana National Council of private schools, GNACOPS warns and has firmly and strongly spoken against re-closure of schools since private schools in the country are ready and have the expertise to manage the current situation.
According to the council, schools have been on lockdown for almost ten months whilst other activities go on in the country.
This to a higher level will affect learners learning and producing healthy learners for building a strong society.
