Full List of 36 Nigerian Elected governors

OpenLife Nigeria present the authentic list of Nigerian 36 state governors.

However, a person shall be eligible for the office of State Governor in Nigeria if he or she is a citizen of Nigeria by birth, at least 35 years of age, is a member of a political party and is sponsored by that political party, according to the constitution.

The constitution limits these Nigerian state governors to only two terms of four-year terms in office. Below is a compiled list of the 36 state governors in Nigeria.

In 2023, elections were dully held in many states for governors while state assemblies will also have their elections in the 36 states.

The states that won’t participate in the governorship elections are Edo, Ondo, Ekiti, Bayelsa, Anambra and Osun states as the tenures of their governors are yet to expire.

As it stands, APC has more control in majority of the states in Nigeria while PDP won few other states especially in the southern region of the country.

We have the updated list of governors elected in the 2023 election and if there are changes, we shall dully add them as some states might still hold their elections.
