Fuel Scarcity: What Nigerians To Expect In The Days Ahead—IPMAN

Fuel Scarcity

OpenLife Nigeria reports that though there were earlier indications that the raging petrol shortage can not last beyond next week, fresh information from the Independent Petroleum Marketers Association of Nigeria, IPMAN, a body of all the Independent Petroleum Marketers loading at the NNPC Depots across the nation, indicates clearly that it is morning yet on creation day.
The government had Wednesday said it had placed orders for over a 2.1billion litres of methanol-free petrol to ensure the queues vanish in a few days.
However, National Operations Controller, Independent Petroleum Marketers Association of Nigeria, Mike Osatuyi, has corroborated the federal government position saying, in an interview with journalists, that the Federal Government and other stakeholders are working to end the scarcity.
Nonetheless, Osatuyi added a caveat stressing that except in Lagos, other States in Nigeria would continue to experience the hardship in a reasonable length of time.
He argued that shortage might end in Lagos because of increased loading, while it might continue in other parts of the country because of bad roads and other logistical challenges.
